Under the Gumbo Limbo Tree

Under the Gumbo Limbo Tree is a short comic operetta detailing the tragic love triangle between a couch potato, his television set, and an adoring tree.

The tree pines hopelessly for the man, watching through a window as he lavishes his attentions on the self-centered television set. His restless passions lead to tragedy as he inadvertently destroys the television set through excessive channel surfing. Despondent, he hangs himself from the tree, which at last achieves happiness in its union with its true love.
