Stray creatures seek Kate out on a regular basis. We think she is listed in a secret directory somewhere. She takes care of cats, dogs, water buffalo, spiny echidnas, and Fancushion. She agreed to keep track of hats for the Colossal Science Fiction Epic and got sucked in by the Fancushion Vortex Of Fun. She also appears in the Sci Fi Epic as an airline clerk.
Sometimes Kate puts on cowboy boots and sings.
