The Doris P. Neddlesham Wing

Maintained by a generous grant of high-fructose snack foods from the estate of Victor Chase-Neddlesham, the Doris P. Neddlesham Wing is devoted to works of art which require no traditional skills on the part of the creator. The current exhibit of assemblage embodies this spirit to its fullest. (Visitors to this wing may also enjoy the Schwenck Wing.)

"Do Not Call" (telemarketer trap)
Dave Grossman, 2004
Assemblage

Awarded third prize in the professional division at Scrapture 2004, owing more to overwhelming public disgust with telemarketing than to the quality of the piece itself.

"Homunculus"
Dave Grossman, 2003
Assemblage

A Pongoistic figure contrasting man and his modern electronic trappings with an inner beast. (Pongoism is a form of ancestor worship in which apes are revered in an evolutionary context. Its rituals and membership are closely guarded secrets, but adherents can be readily identified by their full-body toupees.)

"DogCatMouse"
Dave Grossman, 2002
Assemblage

A daring exploration of the abstraction and iconization which characterize modern perception of animals.

"Zap Gun #1"
Fancushion / Dave Grossman, 1998
Assemblage

This piece was originally created for use as a prop in Fancushion's "Colossal Science Fiction Epic," where it was wielded by the heroine to little effect.

"Music Gun"
Dave Grossman, 2002
Assemblage

A functional piece which plays like a music box when you turn the crank at the back. The tune is familiar but has thus far defied identification.
