If you're planning on coming over here for Halloween, don't worry. The actual spider is in the BACK yard.

Spider on Duty

We've got a spider in the yard
As these things go it's rather large
It weighs about as much as a raccoon
It helps control all sorts of pests
By preying on unwelcome guests
Squirrels, rats and gophers - what a boon!

And if it eats a dog or cat
I'm not the least perturbed by that
Something should be done about these strays
And likewise wayward household pets
They ask for everything they get
Maybe now they'll learn to stay away

Our home arachnid keeps the peace
Much better than the town police
We question not its methods nor its motives
Now and then it bags a deer
The local children disappear
But not so often that you'd really notice
