The POTW: Verse Til It Hurts

POTW #727
(Week of 13 June, 2010)

I just wanted to have a poem titled "Egg Math."

Egg Math

None and none plus none is none
And all of the nothing under the sun
Combined with every zilch and naught
Still none you have (or haven't) got

But take away a zero and then
Another and over and over again
Minus zero, minus zip
None retains its invisible grip

Try to multiply by nil
As many times as it takes to fill
A jar of emptiness with air
Yet there will be nothing there

Multiply or add or subtract
Zero zeroes neatly stacked
Progress: none, but with precision
Until you try division

The POTW has been on hiatus for a few years now, but you never know when I might pick it back up again. If you use a blog reader of some sort, you can add the poem to it using This Link. Or, if you like, you can have the POTW sent to you by email every week (it's FREE). With our high-tech automated system, all you have to do is send an email to from the mail account where you want to receive it, and we'll put you on the list. You will receive a confirmation by email, although it may take a while as the automated subscription process is quite complex and arcane.
