POTW #824
(Week of 16 December, 2012)

NEXT >>
Just in case the world actually does end on Friday, I figure I'd better get this one out while I still can. I've titled it according to the month-first convention we use in my country, which I believe makes slightly less sense than the way they do it elsewhere, but also I think it sounds more melodic in this particular instance, so I'm sticking with it. Hopefully not the last POTW:

Twelve Twenty-One Twenty-Twelve

Pencils down and shut the lights
I hope you tried the cake
No more future dim or bright
We've reached the expiration date

Throw your luggage in the sea
There is no destination
When you simply cease to be
You do not need a reservation

The universe will not exist
Memory extinct
Certificates and laundry lists
All of it will be un-inked

Thoughts and things and time and space
And deeds are whited out
And if everything will be erased
What have we got to be worried about?

Check out "Ode to the Stuff in the Sink," Dave's illustrated book of "guy" verse (concerning the deeper philosophies of things like not doing the laundry, putting your feet on the furniture, and of course beer) at the Maximegalomporium (our store). And did I mention it was illustrated? Pictures!
