It would be weird to claim that this poem was inspired by anything.

Remember That Time

Remember the time that nothing happened
When all was tepidly lukewarm
The seas were calm and the hatches were battened
And there was no looming terrible storm?

Remember the moment so undistinguished
Intangible and silent and scentless
We lacked the proper term in English
To paint its striking non-eventness?

Coincidentally in that instant
Countless things did not occur
So much that wasn't and that didn't
Piled on more that never were

That time was like nothing, nothing at all
A clean blank slate, without the slate
Possibly you can remember it now?
Well neither can I, but I'm sure it was great!
